Also known as The Jack, Platinum Jack, JH, and Premium Jack, Jack Herer is a famous strain of 55% sativa and 45% indica, enabling it to create balanced cerebral and bodily effects. Believed to be a cross between a Haze hybrid and a Northern Lights #5 and Shiva Skunk hybrid, its tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) content is between 15% and 24%, and its cannabidiol (CBD) content is around 0.7%-1.0%. Jack Herer is note for its uplifting effects and could help manage anxiety, depression, and chronic pain.

The strain was nam in honor of the real Jack Herer, a famous cannabis rights campaigner who pass away in 2010. He was affectionately know as “The Hemperor,” or “The Emperor of Hemp” and was the author of the Hemp Bible and The Emperor Wears No Clothes.

As with any variety of cannabis, it is best to go slow and low with Jack Herer. Although Jack Herer is not always a high-THC cultivar, it can have uplifting effects that can be overwhelming and produce anxiety if too much is used. In general, whether it comes to edibles or tinctures, we recommend keeping your dosage to below 5 mg THC and seeing its effects before redosing, increasing in 2.5 mg increments.
It can be more difficult to gauge dosage if you are inhaling (i.e. smoking or vaping) Jack Herer, so just take in a few inhalations (“puffs” or “tokes”) and wait about 20 minutes to see how you feel, and then redose as necessary.
